5Great stamp, great price, lasts for ages  Mar 06, 2009 By Mountain Kitty
I have several of these Cosco stamps in various sizes. I love them. They are so handy and configurable. I have used them for years now; a couple of them are 5-6 years old. I've had no problems with any of them.

Cosco makes (I believe) 3-4 models of this style of stamp. If you notice the front of the stamp says "2000 Plus" on all models. Right under those words in smaller lighter text it says "Printer 30" or "Printer 40", and so on, which identifies the size of the stamp.

The one which says "Printer 30" is the smallest one, but the one I like the most. It's perfect for return addresses, or places where you would like a few lines of text in a modest space. It would be good for an endorsement stamp too. The ones labeled "Printer 40" (or above) are larger and would be better suited for addresses, or where the larger text (font) would be useful.

A little hint or two - I know these suggestions will be obvious to most people, I'm only mentioning them for the few who may not be familiar with "self-inking" stamps.

If you've had the same text on the stamp for a while, then later on when you change the text, and you notice that the stamp doesn't seem to print as well as it did, it may be due to the previous text pressing into the ink pad and leaving dents (temporary) from the letters. Pull the ink pad our and rotate it 180 degrees, but still facing downwards, and reinsert it. Sometimes this helps. Also, if the pad gets a bit dry after a while, most of the inks for re-inkable "self-inking" stamps will work fine to refresh it.

2Almost perfect  Oct 10, 2007 By Kara L. Perkins
I loved this stamp...until I used it. You have to use the stamper at least 5 times on some scratch paper before it will completely print. It almost always leaves part of the text unprinted or illegible. Once you really get the whole thing moistened with ink it seems to do better.

5Ideal for Those Who Move Alot  Dec 03, 2005 By Auntie
I bought this when I was in college nearly 10 years ago. It has lasted me through about 10 address changes and a name change when I got married. I get tons of free address labels in the mail once the junk mail catches up to my new address, but this little stamper got me though every move until then. Patience is required when pulling off/putting on the itty-bitty letters. Would be a great graduation gift. I finally had to buy refill ink after about 10 years.

5Cosco vs Trodat kit.  Jun 22, 2011 By R. Lee
I have this stamp, and it performs well. It is a good stamp kit, and it comes with 2 sets of letters and enough room for 4 to 5 lines of text. It is fairly priced at $23 to $25 with freight included in that amount. It is $28 plus tax at the local office products superstore.

I also have a Trodat 4911 DIY typomatic kit. This stamp is less expensive at $16 and Prime/Free Super Shipping eligible. The ASIN is B00176TFB6
[...]

This Trodat 4911 kit is perfect for a simple 3 line stamp. It is less expensive because it only has room for 3 lines of text, and it only has one board full of letters/numbers. For most simple stamps, the 4911 kit will work fine, and you save $7 or $8 vs the Cosco kit. If you need more than 3 lines, or you think you might need the 2 boards of letters/numbers, then the Cosco would be worth the extra money. The vast majority of people with a simple 3 line address will not need the 2nd board.

There are also larger Trodat Kits 4912 and 4913, but I have not seen them on Amazon. It seems at this time our choices on amazon are the Cosco kit shown here, and the Trodat 4911. I will update this review if I come across the other kits.

These kits are great for stamping where you need to change the text from time to time. I have found that if you leave the stamp with lettering in it for a long period of time (when not in use), the lettering will make an impression on the ink pad, then when you change to different lettering, it doesn't stamp all that well. TIP: to overcome this problem, remove all lettering when not in use. Or if it took you a long time to setup that lettering, and you don't want to take it out, you can remove the ink pad. The ink pad can be removed by pushing down slightly on the stamp, then pushing on the black ink pad to push it through the stamp. Then repeat the process to put it back.

If you ruin the ink pad, new pads can be found on amazon for $4 or so plus shipping. Too bad the ink pads aren't available Prime/Super Saver.

I am a big fan of Amazon Prime, and I like the fact that both of the these item are available with Prime.
